i've been working at this candy shop for the past two days. it's called acte d'amour- french for act of love. i checked. (: anyway, thanks yuxin for telling me about the job, and stella for telling yuxin about it plus giving us felina's number.
felina's our nice boss. she treats us to drinks and food everyday. yesterday we had chocolate [not from the shop though], teriyaki chicken and green tea.
because there's no option, i've been doing the late afternoon/night shift at bugis. i'm not a huge fan of the time slot because it always ends at about 11pm. by the time i get home and have a bath, it's 12+. since bathing always has this refreshing effect, i'll then lie in my bed wide awake and change my sleeping position countless times before i finally fall asleep up to 2 hours later. =( normally i fall asleep in 15 minutes at the most.
this holiday i started and finished, just yesterday, reading all the harry potter books that have ever been published. i never read them before because my parents thought it too scary a book for children. that was especially after hearing their friend's daughter was afraid to stay home alone after reading harry potter. and i distinctly remember that in p5, cherie said that whenever she went to toilet, she was 'scared of seeing a snake in the toilet bowl'. so i always thought the books were bad and scary, and never bothered to read them.
but this year, with all the hype about the new book and the new movie, i decided to give the gof movie a go. i found it enchanting, of course. so i began to read the books. now, many years after cherie's statement, i finally understand she was talking about the basilisk in the chamber of secrets.
better late than never.
only one and a half weeks of holidays remain. at least christmas is coming (:.
next week i'm going to KL and Fraser's hill with some of my cousins and our families. i'll meet all my other cousins except one on the trip too. you see, i only have 9 cousins altogether on both sides.
very soon after that it will be 2006 and it's off to acjc for me.
